Heartfelt Hearts with a Side of Poppies!

Heartfelt Hearts with a side of Poppies!

Today I've used the Heartfelt bundle with the Peaceful Poppies DSP to show you that Hearts aren't just for Valentine's Day.  Each of these cards can be used for Valentine's Day, or any other special day.

I've started with capitalizing on the beautiful color combination of Pool Party and Painted Poppies.  The construction is fairly straightforward. The card base is Pool Party, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". The first layer is Poppy Parade cardstock measuring 3 3/4" x 5", the second layer is some of the Peaceful Poppies DSP measuring 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" . These are the measurements for the next card as well.  I wrapped two layers of the 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim around the DSP layer and adhered it at both ends and in the middle with Mini Glue Dots.  I stamped and punched the beautiful detailed heart in Pool Party with the Heartfelt stamps and one of the punches.  I used two vellum poppies from the Peaceful Poppies Elements.  One side of these has white embossing on it to detail the poppies.  I have turned them over and colored on the flat side with Poppy Parade Dark Stampin' Blends alcohol marker.  This little package of elements is stuffed full of fun extras for all of your paper creations.  For only $6.50 it's a great deal!  I popped the heart up on Stampin' Dimensionals, adhered the poppies to the heart using Mini Glue Dots, and finished with three Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I've put a Whisper White insert into the card, measurin 3 3/4" x 5".  There are many beautiful sentiments in the Heartfelt set, so choose your favorite!

This card is similar to the first.  The card base is Rich Razzleberry, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".  The first layer is Basic Black cardstock and the second layer is from the Peaceful Poppies DSP.  The measurements are the same as above.  I've stamped the stitched heart on Rich Razzleberry in Memento black, and punched with one of the hearts in the bundle.  I've punched a black scalloped heart and adhered both hearts with Mono liquid glue.  I've die cut a swirly circle using a die from Painted Poppies Bundle and adhered that directly onto the DSP.  Then I adhered a piece of the black scalloped die cut from the Peaceful Poppies Elements. Finally, I popped the heart up on Mini Dimensionals and finished with three of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

The inside is finished simply with a Whisper White insert measuring 3 3/4" x 5", and a beautiful arrow stamped in Memento black ink.

The final card is one we all love - a belly band card!  The card base is Old Olive cardstock, measuring 4 1/4" x 11, scored at 2 1/8" on either end of the cardstock.  The first layer is Basic Black cardstock, two rectangles measuring 2" x 5 3/8".  The second layer is Peaceful Poppies DSP, two rectangles measuring 1 7/8" x 5 1/4".  Adhere directly to the front of the card.   I've also used From My Heart Faceted Gems.  These are beautiful little iridescent elements that add the perfect POP!

The inside has a layer of Basic Black measuring 3 3/4" x 5", and a layer of Whisper White measuring 3 1/2" x 5".  Sentiment of your choice stamped in Flirty Flamingo.  Finally the Belly Band is quite simple.  Take a strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock measuring 2" x 11".  Wrap it around the card so that the seams meet in the front.  Cut some of the overage off (leave a bit so that it overlaps itself, but will be covered by the heart center) and adhere with Tear & Tape.   Die cut a swirly circle from Flirty Flamingo cardstock using a die from Painted Poppies Bundle and adhered that directly onto the Belly Band.  Finally, stamp a decorative heart from the Heartfelt stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink on Whisper White and pop up on the swirly die with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Stamp a sentiment from the Heartfelt Stamp set onto a scrap of Flirty Flamingo cardstock in Poppy Parade ink.  The sentiment is adhered directly onto the heart, and now you have a beautiful and fun friend card!
