More Doily Love

Here are two more cards using the Dear Doily bundle that I created.  Enjoy!  First of all, I created these cards during one of my Facebook Lives.  If you would like to view that, here is the address:

And Card #1, Inside

Card #2, Front

And Card #2,

In order to make the multi-colored stalks of lavender for Card #1, you need to have the Stamparatus.  This is Stampin' Up!'s fantastic precision placing tool.  Among other things, it allows us to stamp over and over in the exact same spot.  Start by mounting the lavender stamp and laying down a piece of white cardstock.  You will need sponge daubers or Stampin' Write markers to achieve this look.  As you can tell, I chose the markers.  The colors I used are Garden Green, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Blackberry Bliss, Georgous Grape and Highland Heather.

You will color separate areas of the stamps with the markers, and stamp the image after coloring with just one marker.  In this way, you begin to layer the color on top of, or directly beside, the other colors.  It creates a beautiful, realistic look.

This is what it looks like after laying down just one color.

Here is the completed look, using all of the markers and stamping after each color. I made two stalks of lavender, then die cut them.  The rest of the construction is fairly straightforward.  I used a Gray Granite card base.  I cut a piece of Highland Heather 3 1/2" square.  I also have a piece of Gray Granite that is cut 4" x 5 1/4".  I used the large lattice die to cut an image in the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Gray Granite.  Then I lay that over the card base and slid in the piece of Highland Heather behind it.  Once I saw where the Highland Heather needed to be in order to show through the die cut, I adhered it to the card base.  Then I took the 4" x 5 1/4" Gray Granite piece , popped it up on Dimensions and Mini Dimensionals, and placed it on the card front so that the Highland Heather showed through the die cut.  Finally I tied the two stalks of lavender together with Linen Twine and adhered to the front of the card with a combination of Glue Dots and our Fine Tipped Glue Pen.  I colored 1 large, clear Epoxy Drop with the Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends marker, and put that in the center of the doily.

I finished off the inside with one of the great sentiments from the set and a doily image.  I adhered a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" White Cardstock inside the card.  I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss, and I stamped the doily in Highland Heather.  I stamped the doily off once before stamping on the card insert.

Card #2 is fairly simple.

The card base is Highland Heather.  I embossed the sentiment on Blackberry Bliss with Silver Embossing Powder.  I took the Gray Granite cardfront (4" x 5 1/4") and I cut one of the Doily dies out from the middle left area of the cardfront.  Then I cut the same doily out of Silver Glimmer Paper.  Once I adhered the Gray Granite card front, I then adhered the Silver Glimmer Paper die with SNAIL.  Then I cut two of the same size doily - one out of Blackberry Bliss and one out of Gray Granite.  I popped both up on Dimensionals (only in the center) and adhered the Blackberry Bliss die over the Silver Glimmer Paper die.  I cut the embossed sentiment out with our Circle Layering Dies, stamped a few more doilies on the front with Highland Heather and Blackberry Bliss ink, and that was it.  I finished the inside just as I finished the inside of Card #1.

I hope you make these cards in this or your own color combinations as they are even more beautiful in person.  Feel free to contact me with any questions, and thank you for visiting The Stamping Zoo!
